General Information

The official Employee Identification Card immediately identifies you as an employee of a provincial government department or agency. In addition to your name, photograph, and signature, the card clearly identifies the Department or Agency you represent and any special authorities you may have. The card is vital to the security of all government facilities, operations and functions.

It is the only card recognized and accepted by the business community both within and outside the Province. Employees/supervisors are encouraged to contact the Human Resources Division or designate within their Department or Agency to request official identification cards.

Effective April 15, 2002, when entering designated government facilities and while working or visiting therein, all government personnel, including elected officials and staff, must wear official photo ID badges; frequent visitors and contractors must wear time-limited badges; visitors and guests must wear visitor passes.
