Responsibilities
- Efficient allocation of space in government owned
buildings;
- Determining space requirements for all government
departments, as well as some agencies;
- Preparing specifications and calling and evaluating
tenders of space requirements for government departments and
agencies;
- Administration of all departmental leases;
- Renting government space to private sector individuals
and companies for provision of services to government;
- Databases consisting of inventory of government-owned
and leased facilities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Developing, implementing, reviewing, and evaluating all
departmental computer systems; and providing systems advice
to all departmental managers;
- Preparing and monitors IT Budget for the department and
purchasing, installing and maintaining all computer
hardware/software for the department;
- Providing central registry services;
- Managing government voice and data telecommunications
network;
- Coordinating and advising on all government mobile radio
purchases;
- Providing consulting and advisory services on the
installation of telephones and terminal devices for all
departments; inventory control of all telephone equipment
within government; and liaison for all telephone equipment
purchases within government;
- Providing switchboard operation for Confederation
Complex.
