Planning and Accommodations Division

Responsibilities

  • Efficient allocation of space in government owned buildings;
  • Determining space requirements for all government departments, as well as some agencies;
  • Preparing specifications and calling and evaluating tenders of space requirements for government departments and agencies;
  • Administration of all departmental leases;
  • Renting government space to private sector individuals and companies for provision of services to government;
  • Databases consisting of inventory of government-owned and leased facilities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Developing, implementing, reviewing, and evaluating all departmental computer systems; and providing systems advice to all departmental managers;
  • Preparing and monitors IT Budget for the department and purchasing, installing and maintaining all computer hardware/software for the department;
  • Providing central registry services;
  • Managing government voice and data telecommunications network;
  • Coordinating and advising on all government mobile radio purchases;
  • Providing consulting and advisory services on the installation of telephones and terminal devices for all departments; inventory control of all telephone equipment within government; and liaison for all telephone equipment purchases within government;
  • Providing switchboard operation for Confederation Complex.
