Policy, Planning and Evaluation
The Policy, Planning and Evaluation Division coordinates departmental activities related to developing new policies, evaluating programs and planning for the department.
Services:
- Provide ministerial and executive support through
comprehensive policy analysis, advice and recommendations;
coordination of legislative reviews and federal-provincial
agreements; and preparation of briefing materials, cabinet
papers and central agency requests.
- Coordinate planning and accountability measures through
the development of strategic plans, annual performance
reports and performance contracts.
- Manage the commitments database, which charts the
progress of publicly released government commitments.
- Represent the department and support the minister and
executive on federal-provincial-territorial committees and
forums.
- Provide support to the Minister’s Advisory Committee on
Labrador Transportation.
- Respond to access to information requests and advise on
protection of privacy matters for stakeholders and
employees.
- Conduct research, evaluate programs and services,
monitor trends and conduct statistical analysis.
- Coordinate and lead cross-government initiatives, such
as regulatory reform and business continuity planning.
- Participate in interdepartmental initiatives, such as
the Northern Strategic Plan.
Clients:
Clients are internal employees, elected officials, other government departments, federal-provincial-territorial governments, consultants and individuals requesting access to information.
